playroom planning

I designed this house to have the girls playroom completely out of view of any visitors so that they can claim the space as their own and mumma wont nag to have it tidy.
We plan to have a kitchen, it may have to be specially made as all the kitchens out there are for little tiny girls...
How sweet is this one!
Craft and drawing are forever happening in this house..
So space for this is essential however reality may mean that it continues to happen at the kitchen table.....
I will therefore try my hardest to make their space so child friendly and interesting that it will be irresistable to them......

Bean bags

How pretty is this room!! I love the little chandelier, bunting, stripes....ok everything..
I dont want to put our little boy visitors off though, but how sweet!!!

When playing, a child's brain is at work.
I LOVE watching my girls play, pretend and create.
When you wonder where they are and they have created a spot in the garden for a picnic
When they stumble across an old cash register tray that i used to play with as a child and play "shop"
Hours of amusement, making signs and getting set up
When they find a tank of water in the paddock and have an idea...
A twig, some string and a hook made out of foil = a homemade fishing rod

The joy of watching their creativity and memory making....

Love you already

baby freckles room xx

My little sister is expecting and I could not possibly be more excited about the
impending arrival of a new bundle of joy for our family.

She and her partner are currently renovating, some of you may remember the pic I posted of the original bathroom sometime ago, and promised some updates - but I have kept you in suspense or just been lazy but stay tuned.....

Well, baby freckles room has become a priority since the arrival is expected within the next couple of months.
I was so excited when she asked if i would join her this weekend for some nest fluffing....
Her partner has built baby freckles bedroom basically from scratch, framed, plastered, architraves, lighting, etc...So a blank canvas she was blessed with.

Last sleepover we had, we went hunting for inspiration and and found the next two pics from Belinda Grahams blog http://www.thehappyhomeblog.com/

Her kiddies bedrooms are just so sweet, so we decided to take a little from each and make it a little more neutral....

We took a trip to Spotlight and picked up some scrap booking card in some varying colors - red, green, orange, a print and a music sheet print. My sisters partner, MJ, is a great drawer so he sketched some birds and he sat and cut away whilst we fluffed about him. We also picked up the sweet bird box little clock and fluffy cream rug from Spotlight. The birds are just bluetacked at the moment but will be fixed with 3M valcro tape.

We picked up the sweetest owl night light and sweet red and white frames to hold the images of baby freckles in utero from Typo - I LOVE that shop and we wanted everything!

To carry on with the Woodland/Nature them we chose this sweet little deer cushion - also from TYPO.

The dining chair will soon be replaced with a chunky cane armchair with latte colored cushions and the deer cushion propped waiting for a new feeding mumma..

And the sweet Roman is also from Spotlight..

I am now on the hunt for a lovely old branch in the back paddock tomorrow that will hang cutesie little clothes ...

We work amazingly together. Getting excited and being creative, me and her, my little sister. What amazing progress in a couple of hours, a few glasses of vino, with the feathers ruffling..

I cant wait to meet you Freckles - you are so loved already. Hurry up growing those eyelashes already..
Stay tuned for the finishing touches...

My new additions

ILVE Titanium T906WMP 90cm Freestanding Oven

Look what I found!!! I was just browsing to get an idea of price for the new oven, and I stumbled across this baby..

I have been spoilt enough to have a big oven for the past four years and i dont think I could go back! I have been forced to go back at the new rental, and it has only reiterated that the oven size will not be negotiable.
I often bake and have a number of goodies on the go, so a big oven is a must..

Look at the list of features this baby has!

                                                        Oven 90cm:
• Select 10 multifunction electric oven cooking modes
• New turbowave Quickstart preheating function 0°C–180°C in 8 minutes
• Pizza and bread mode
• Electronic programmable digital clock
• Giant 110 litre oven capacity
• Rotisserie
• Cool touch athermic door handles with cooling fan
• Triple door glazing for safer, cooler door temperatures
• Warming and storage compartment
• Removable door with dismountable inner glass for easy cleaning
• Easy dismantling of oven interior
• Precision thermostatic control
• Stainless steel fan fat filter
• Catalytic cook and clean side liners
• Turbowave cooking, lower temperatures, less food shrinkage and spatter, moister fresher tasting roasts
• Easy clean vitreous enamel interior, smooth black non staining appearance
• Exclusive removable oven floor ensures easy cleaning of interior can be made in the sink or dishwasher
• Oven storage and warming drawer

She is all mine, after some quick negotiation with the treasurer. The store have kindly agreed to allow us to make a payment and then they will look after her until we are ready to put her in her new home!!

I also found this butlers sink and managed to get approval from Mr Right... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
I have always wanted one and wasnt sure whether i could get it past the Treasurer, but i did, i have, it will be mine to sink my hands into!

And then i found this over at A-M's Cape Cod Designs

Now this one - (or three to be exact) i am still tring to get past the Treasurer.
This is exactly what I was looking for, perhaps not with that price tag...but the joy that they would bring me every morning when I stumble into that kitchen....

A-M has the most amazing style
True inspiration!

This picture is part of my inspiration for the bathrooms in the house.
I love the basins, bath, mirrors and lights.
So i have chosen the following
I am definately sold on the basins and bath, but I'm still second guessing myself on the taps.....
What do you think - the goosenecks or something smaller like the picture??

I am yet to even contemplate tiles, but I think I may choose something incredibly practical. Given the showers are fully tiled and the girls and i have long dark hair, an all white bathroom may not suit.
Greys or taupes????

Apologies for the grainy i phone pic, snapped it from Houzz - for the sink and grey tile......

mmmm, decisions....

or a taupe tile as above??

What do you think
